Application process 

In making an application for a grant, an applicant shall do the following: 

• Send a letter of request to the

  • HLDC 15544 Central Ave NE Ham Lake, MN 55304 including:

• Name and address of the business/individual making the request

• Name of business operating on the site (if different than request)

• Address of site to be improved

• Details of improvements including an informal sketch of parcel illustrating location of project, contractor bids, total cost estimates

A responding letter is mailed to the business from the HLDC indicating the request does or does not fit the guidelines.

The HLDC inspects project and collects more information as necessary.

The HLDC requests grant approval from the city and notifies business of approval.

Business makes improvements and submits proof of payment for reimbursement.

The HLDC requests approval from the City for an amount equal to 50% of the actual cost or $8,000, whichever is less.
